The Hobbit
When my Dad was young, he would read a book a day.
I loved to play sports and games, but I was not much of a reader until my Dad gave me
The Hobbit.
After that, I was hooked on reading, especially swords and sorcery, fantasy and science fiction.
I read and loved
Conan the Barbarian and just about everything else written by
Robert E. Howard,
Edgar Rice Burroughs,
Isaac Asimov
and countless others.
Nothing surpassed the Hobbit.
For about the next decade and a half, each year I read all four books
The Hobbit and
The Lord of the Rings.
How Did I Get the Domain Name Hobbit.info?
When .info domain names were made available, anyone with a trademark could pre-register any .info domain name for $10.
The owners of the Hobbit trademark did not bother to register Hobbit.info.
After the pre-registration period, there was a lottery for the remaining .info domain names and I won Hobbit.info.
I also got Gandalf.info and
MiddleEarth.info.
Think about the cool email addresses like Beorn@MiddleEarth.info, Sauron@MiddleEarth.info and Smaug@MiddleEarth.info.
